Does God even exist? If so, what does he think of me? And how can I connect with him?At Anchor Church, we invite you to take a fresh look at the God of Christianity who reveals himself in the Bible. As you do so, we pray that you will find the same peace and hope in Jesus that we have found, and agree that Christ is the truly the Anchor we all need. God sent his Son Jesus to win precious forgiveness for you, me, and every human being on the planet. He now calls us to love one another as he has loved us. We want to be a part of the change that we want in this world, and that starts with loving our community in spiritual, physical, and tangible ways. No matter who you are or where you’ve been, we hope you’ll join us in being Anchored in this community. We believe that God solved mankind’s problem of sin by sending Jesus Christ into the world to live a perfect life in our place, die on the cross to pay for our sins, and rise from the dead to guarantee eternal life in heaven to all who believe. We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and thus the only objective source of truth in the world. The Bible is a book of good news, about how God designed and implemented his plan of salvation by sending Jesus to be our Savior. The Bible is the only place in the world we find this message of grace, and so the Bible is the ultimate authority for everything we believe, teach, and do. This means we believe that the teachings of the Bible are correctly represented in the Lutheran Confessions (found **here**.) These documents were prepared during the Protestant Reformation, a time in church history when God led believers back to his Word and to the historic faith taught by Jesus and the apostles. While times have changed since the writing of these documents (c. 1580 A.D.), the timeless truths of Scripture have not. Anchor is also a part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS.) Being part of a larger church body allows us to be part of ministries that extend far beyond our doorstep here in Marquette. The ministry of the WELS includes a robust worker training system, humanitarian aid efforts, and extensive mission work, both in North America and around the world. You can learn more about the work of our church body **here****.** After growing up in Saginaw, MI Joe Lindloff received thorough training on his way to becoming a pastor. After graduating from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, MI, Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Languages (Greek and Hebrew) from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, and then received his Master of Divinity from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. Joe’s seminary training included a 1-year internship in Colorado Springs, CO, where a mission heart was grown for planting new churches.  After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2016, Joe served as a pastor for 7 years at Hope Lutheran Church in Irmo, SC. In 2023 he accepted a call from the Northern Wisconsin District Mission Board to move to Marquette and start a brand-new mission church. Joe loves many things about Marquette – the outdoors, the people, the culture – but most of all he loves the opportunity to reach out to a large mission field with the good news about Jesus. On an average day you might find Pastor Joe working at The Crib, teaching a Bible study there, or working on he and Julie’s home. You might find his wife Julie at the Library, practicing the piano, or taking the kids on a playdate to the park. As we interact with God's Word through worship and Bible Basics Class, God helps us to understand his love more every day. Whatever you're most comfortable in! We're not worried about what you're wearing - we're just glad you made it here! God made us for community, loving each other and doing life together. Sadly, this world is getting more fractured every day. Come find a place where you belong. Here at Anchor we value GATHERING regularly to love, support, and enjoy each other in our daily lives as a group that aims to represent all of God’s people. Come explore the Bible with Pastor Joe and others in a relaxed, non-judgmental setting. All items are donated by the community to those in need. Our focus this upcoming spring will be used clothing. Stay tuned for details. Thank you for loving the families of our community in this way! You're invited to our 2nd annual “Christmas Store” at Anchor Church! This event is held to help community members in need do Christmas shopping at no cost. Please join us on December 13th from 10:00am - 2:00PM to “shop” for gifts from donated items. We will also have gift wrapping available by our awesome volunteers! If you are in a position to donate gifts (All ages: clothing, toys, home goods etc.) or a monetary donation to our Christmas Store, we would greatly appreciate it! Items can be dropped of in-person at Anchor on Sundays from 10-12 and Wednesdays from 6-7pm. If you are not local and would like to send a donation, please check out our Amazon WISH LIST which will have items sent directly to Anchor. Renovate  ### What this will bring ## How to Donate This campaign is driven by a Gospel-centered conviction: in Jesus we have a hope that cannot move, no matter what. He holds us in every storm, carries us daily with his love, and we have a firm and secure future in heaven with Him. God has anchored many in his love right before our eyes, and by any means possible we seek to ANCHOR people in Christ right here in the heart of Marquette. *It’s about much more than raising funds to purchase a building for our ministry, it’s about putting down permanent roots in the heart of Marquette, so that by God’s grace, souls may be served and saved. While we don't know what building it will be, we know that God does, and we can't wait to see what His plans are! Will you join us?* Over the next two years, we are prayerfully committed to raising **$400,000** to accomplish three high-impact priorities: We are currently outgrowing our rented ministry space just 1 year into ministry. God is pouring out blessing upon blessing, and one by one God is claiming souls for his kingdom. Before we can preach and teach Jesus to this city in full force, we must have a building that can accommodate larger worship service, consistent community service events, and increase our *impact* on this city. We are convinced that downtown is where God is calling us to do this ministry. Over 60% of our adult confirmands have come to Anchor by its proximity to everyday life. This investment will help us FORM a beautiful, functional, and Christ-Centered ministry space.
